Known simply as "the butte" to locals, the bohemian enclave of Montmartre captures the artistic soul of Paris like no where else. And it was her that rich and poor alike, artists, businessmen, aristocrats, bankers, farmers and even royalty came together to rub shoulders on the wild outskirts of Paris in a great swell of joyous humanity that perspired and inspired during a time that became known as the "Beautiful Era", La Belle Époque. This tour takes you from the iconic red windmill of the Moulin Rouge up the butte through the artist communities that still survive today and ending with the most breathtaking view of Paris at the base of the Sacré Coeur.
