What can I say about this tour that will be useful to your (potential) customers?
1. downloading the tour was very straightforward. I followed the download link, the ZIP file arrived, I unzipped it and copied directly to my mp3 player (Creative). No problems there.
2. I found the payment by credit card screen very annoying. Lots of information to fill in, how much of this is relevant? Is there any way you can streamline this process? You should make it as simple as possible for customers to pay.
3. The maps were useful as an extra. Maybe if someone has never visited the city they would need them. I didn't use the Venice map, Rome only at the start. I imagine people will also have some kind of guide book containing maps so perhaps is not necessary, but it helps to complete the package. I would keep the maps.
4. I don't have video on my mp3 player so I can't comment on the pictures accompanying the tour.
5. The tour itself was very lively and fun. There was a great chemistry between the tour guides on the Venice tour. This is a big plus. I would recommend you do the same for the Rome tour. I was expecting something more dry and factual. Your style is far more interesting. I would suggest you promote this feature more heavily on your site, it makes a big difference to the tour experience.
6. Audio production, ok. Recording quality was fine, both tours sounded clear. Audio can include background music, sound effects, extra voices, etc. Except for occasional background music there was no audio FX. Especially after point 5, with the tour already fun, you could increase the production values and produce something spectacular.
7. Length of tours fine. This will be down to personal taste, for me they were a good length, especially since the tours are not expensive.
8. You could possibly think about including details of places to eat/drink/visit along the way or other suggestions to do once the tour is over. You have the ear of these tourists, why not give them some extras?
Conclusion: educational and entertaining. This is a difficult task to pull off but you did it very well.
Cons: could do more with audio fx
Pros: lively, human, interesting.
Hope this helps,
Fiona.
